Good War Documentaries

I'm looking for some good war documentaries on the Middle East.

I have recently watched the doc "No End In Sight" which is about America's invasion of Iraq. I learned a lot of stuff I didn't know and came to the conclusion that Donald Rumsfeld should go to jail for the shit he did.

"No End In Sight" is very informative and sticks to the facts, unlike some documentaries like the ones Michael Moore makes that are very one-sided.

Any suggestions on other good ones?

Fog of War and Why we Fight.

Marines of Kilo company is another.

The World At War

The World At War

:yesyes:

I also agree with The Fog of War and Why We Fight, that have been mentioned above.

Also to add my own pick to the hat, I would have to say: The Power of Nightmares. Excellent doc in my opinion. Althought it's more of a three hour, three part television documentary. I do think it has been re-cut into a two hour film, but I'm not to sure of that. I would say see all three parts if you can. I think they're on google video.

Spleen

Banned?
Generation Kill isn't a documentary, but it does feel a bit like one. It's based on true events and people (some of the soldiers actually play themselves). I recommend it to anyone interested in this war.

Already seen it / love it. Amazing series.

I watched "Why We Fight" and it's pretty nuts. I never knew America has been in so many wars since WW2.

War is good business.

When you watch it, don't forget to see the special features section where they have an informal roundtable with 4 of the featured Marines.

I really couldn't stand Generation Kill the Documentary, something about the translation to film made me really dislike the Characters. I also noticed David Simon played up a few scenes to fit his agenda, which I thought was counter to the premise for making the film.

Reading the series in Rolling Stone was interesting though, especially when co-workers knew some of the Marines mentioned in that battalion, including identifying one guy by the dead accurate nickname.

All in all, balance your liberal propaganda with your conservative propaganda, you isolationists with your globalists and you should be alright. I know far less of history than I should, but I'm working on it too.

I can't say as this would qualify as good. Its amazing people watch his garbage...

The more people who watch Fahrenheit 9/11 the better :)
