History dictates these opinions. Most unanticipated sequels to highly acclaimed series can not escape the shadow of their original. This squeal is 10 years later. Why? There was no season long worthy open ending to R2. There is no addition to R2 many will say. The way it ended is part of the package that makes CG great. Odds are this will be a stain on the series. Could be wrong. Could surprise everyone. However, 10 years ago was really the hay day of anime and now, 10 years in the future, we will see how the evolution of the industry will affect this title and the genres it encompasses. IZEROII said: Still, to go off destroying it before anything about t has been revealed, much less the show actually airing, doesn't feel fair. It's like with the Kabaneri stuff. Just because there are expectations, doesn't mean they'll pan out that way, and some of the people in this thread alone via their wording are passing off their predictions as fact. Besides, maybe they took a while before realizing that there could be more done. Look at Zeta Gundam. It got released a while 5 years after the first one, but nobody complained then. You can chalk this up to the people of the times and the fact that there wasn't internet back then, but the pout remains, don't utterly get on a sequel or prequel's case as "certainly anhorrible cash grab" before it even comes out. You can have expectations for the show rather they be high or low, by there lies in problem in passing judgement to a late addition to the story/franchise of something before it even gets the chance to show you what it's made of.CodeBlazeFate said: What's with the sheer spite from you guys? Why are people on the internet so damn negative about everything these days? There were tons of people shitting on Ghost in the Shell trailer without even watching the damn movie and now this? I agree with it is possible that he lives (and wished for a new season in which he becomes farmer, goes to a farmer school and uses his geass on cows) but well :D That's the main trigger for the theory, otherwise there are a number of reasons like nunally vision, that charles scene etc. |

fst said: Can't be worse than the Akito OVAs Of course it can! There's no way a TV series would enjoy the same budget as the OVA. Those MS fights were total sex though, easily rivaling the best Gundam stuff. Besides, R2 had its own share of stupid. It turned the retarded cancerous "I knew this all along but didn't tell you for DRAMATIC REVEAL" and "I knew you knew but pretended I didn't for DRAMATIC REVEAL" tropes up to eleven (unintentional pun) while introducing even more implausible concepts and characters and stretching the suspension of disbelief with regards to technology and its applications. It couldn't even be considered sci-fi anymore. If they end up reviving Lelouch I just hope they go for the campiness because, evidently, their attempts to tell a serious story fall apart pretty quickly. |

I'm going on low expectations probably. It's not that I'll expect it to be shit honestly, but I do expect to be either a disappointment or underwhelming, because the ending itself was perfect in many ways, unless they try to explain without really saying anything taking our from their own assholes.
