Strimer Vignettes: Jungle
Part of a series of commissions by
afallenwolf
The strimer species is divided between three regional variants or subspecies, and their early history is largely defined by the different cultures and conflicts found between these three variants.
Jungle strimer adapted to a geographically isolated and relatively small jungle, taking to an arboreal rather than cliff-dwelling lifestyle. Preyed upon by predatory megafauna, the jungle strimer developed potent toxins within their tissues; by the time they had hunted the megafauna to extinction, they no longer had much competition of any sort. What developed afterwards was a very inwards-facing culture of spiritualists and philosophers- the jungle strimer's temple-cities were overflowing with culture and scientific curiosity.
